VicPD K9 Nabs Two for Theft from Vehicle at CFB Esquimalt

Victoria BC -  VicPD’s Police Service Dog Uno and his partner scored a win with a successful track and arrest of two young offenders who had broken into vehicles parked at the Wardroom at CFB Esquimalt.

VicPD was asked to help after reports of a break in to a vehicle parked at the Wardroom just after 2 a.m. on Sunday morning.  Two individuals were scared off by Commissionaires when they located the theft in progress in the parking lot. They ran towards Lyall Street as the witness tried to keep them in sight.

Uno and his partner were called into action by the Military Police who were already on scene looking for the culprits.

The track took the K9 team around numerous buildings and through numerous parked cars until finally ending up in a drainage ditch, where the two suspects were hiding.

The pair was arrested without incident, admitted their involvement and were found with the property taken from the car.
