Victoria BC – One man is in stable condition after
being shot outside a nightclub early this morning.
VicPD received multiple 911 calls just after 1 a.m. that a
man had been shot in the 900-block of Douglas Street. Numerous officers
flooded the area and found the victim. He was quickly transported to
hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
As more officers came on scene they noted a vehicle, similar
in description to the one used in the shooting. The vehicle fled from officers,
but was located a short time later along with a weapon believed to have been
used in the shooting.
Numerous resources poured into the area including a
K9. A female, believed to be associated to the crime was taken into custody,
but the suspect remains at large.
The investigation is still in its early stages and VicPD
will have a large section of Douglas Street closed off. It will remain closed
to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic for most of the day.
