VicPD Requesting Public’s Assistance with Evidence Search @VIicPDCanada #yyj

Victoria BC – VicPD is request the public’s help in locating  key pieces of evidences in relation to the drive-by shooting on Monday morning that left one man injured and the shooter wanted for attempted murder.

During the short pursuit initiated by VicPD on Monday morning after the shooting, it is believed that Fletcher fired at officers in the pursuing vehicle.  Nobody was hit, but the trajectory from the suspects’ vehicle leads detectives to believe that he had fired at police during the pursuit.

Officers have scoured the area looking for the bullet casings or rounds, but have not yet located any.  Detectives are now asking for the public’s assistance.

If you locate a bullet casing or locate an unexplained hole in a building along the pursuit route, please call VicPD’s non-emergency line at 250-995-7654.  Do not pick up or handle any evidence, but stay with it and officers will attend immediately.

“Officers from around the Capital Regional District are looking for Mr. Fletcher,” said Sgt. Jamie McRae, Lead Investigator. “We will leave nothing to chance in apprehending him safely.”

Fletcher, who is wanted for attempted murder, is still considered armed and dangerous and VicPD is urging the public to call 911 immediately if he is spotted.
