Victoria BC –VicPD is now investigating this morning’s collision at Admirals Road and Woodway Road as a fatality after the 90-year-old driver died in hospital this afternoon.
VicPD was called to the intersection at approximately 8 a.m. after reports of a very serious collision at that location. Officers and Provincial Ambulance Services arrived quickly and extracted the man from the wreckage; where he had suffered very severe injuries.
The man was taken to Victoria General Hospital where he later passed away.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the small, north bound car had turned left into the path of a large truck. The intersection was closed for several hours as VicPD officers and the CRASH team investigated.
