Victoria Foundation to launch two new initiatives: Community Knowledge Centre Vital Loans

The Honourable Judith Guichon, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, will host approximately 200 people,  February 18, representing a cross-section of community groups, donors, businesses, institutions, elected officials and others instrumental in shaping our region.

The Victoria Foundation’s Community Knowledge Centre is an online knowledge hub that extends and complements the impact of the Victoria Foundation’s annual Victoria's Vital Signs® report by showcasing the innovative and effective solutions that local organizations are undertaking to address issues raised in the report.

The Victoria Foundation has partnered with Island Savings to create and administer the Vital Loans program, aimed at providing financial support in the form of loans to registered charities on southern Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands.  A Vital Loan evaluation combines the Victoria Foundation’s unique knowledge of the community - and the charities within it – with Island Savings’ financial expertise and understanding of the local economy. Through this partnership, loan opportunities can be evaluated like never before   – a first for the Islands.
