A strong frontal system approaching the South Coast will bring high winds beginning this afternoon to areas along the Vancouver Island side of the Strait of Georgia. Winds will rise to southeast 60 to 80 km/h this afternoon. Near Victoria and the Gulf Islands, the strong southeasterlies will be followed by southwest winds of 30 to 50 km/h this evening. Winds will ease overnight.
