across from Municipal Hall, 1229 Esquimalt Road .
HMCS Esquimalt was the last
Canadian warship lost to enemy action during the Second World War when it was
torpedoed in the approaches to Halifax
on the morning of April 16, 1945. The last of the twenty-seven
crewmembers who survived the attack passed away in 2012.
