Chief Graham to Retire at End of 2013 @VicPDCanada #yyj @CityofVictoria

Victoria BC – Chief Jamie Graham will retire at the conclusion of his 5-year contract as Chief Constable of VicPD on December 31, 2013.  He assumed the post on January 1, 2009.

“It has been a great privilege to serve the communities of Victoria and Esquimalt over the past five years,” said Chief Graham. “I am very much looking forward to continuing to serve with the men and women of VicPD until the end of 2013.”

Chief Graham indicated his intention to retire in a recent letter to the Victoria Police Board, which is chaired by Victoria mayor Dean Fortin.  “On behalf of the Police Board, I want to extend my sincere appreciation for Chief Graham’s service to the people of Victoria and Esquimalt,” said Chair Fortin. “The Board will now begin the challenging task to replace Chief Graham, but I am confident that the span of time between now and the end of the year will give the Board the opportunity to find the best person to be the next Chief of VicPD.”
