VicPD Stands with Community against Drug Dealer #yyj @VicPDCanada

Victoria BC – A local drug dealer and his associates were arrested last week after community information led to the bust of this active drug house.

VicPD’s Crime Reduction Unit and Strike Force Section arrested the 39-year-old man after a search warrant was executed at his residence in the 2500-block of Graham Street.  This location had been a problem for a while with deals being done inside the residence and often in exchange for property stolen from break and enters or theft from cars.

The Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team executed the search warrant last Friday. The fortified residence had surveillance and when GVERT was finally able to get in, the main suspect and three others were located inside. Upon searching, officers noticed a plethora of weapons, drug paraphernalia and stolen property.

“Drug investigations often go hand-in-hand with recovering stolen property,” said Inspector Brian Fox, Officer in Charge of the Operational Support Division. “We’re very happy we could stand with this neighbourhood and say ‘enough is enough.’”

The investigation continues and officers are now working on identifying and returning the recovered stolen property and putting the best case forward for Crown Counsel.
